Overview

A real estate private equity investment and management firm specializing in the ownership and operation of multifamily properties is currently looking to hire a Payroll Specialist to manage the day-to-day payroll responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Audits and reconciles wide range of personnel actions and payroll documents on behalf of management, completing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 100 employees spanning multiple payroll companies
  • Completes employee on-boarding and initiation, including health insurance, HSA and 401(k) enrollment and ongoing maintenance
  • Processes employee time and attendance data from the time system to payroll and reconciles variances utilizing tools in the time and payroll systems
  • Records journal entries in accounting software to capture bi-weekly payroll data, payroll accruals and payroll allocations
  • Invoices affiliated companies for payroll and expense reimbursement, posting accurate allocations for each employee and payroll/holding company
  • Monitors and enforces accurate employee timecards including accounting for PTO and overtime
  • Provides customer service to employees in the area of pay, benefits and taxes as relate to their pay, assists in accurate completion and submission of all related forms and benefit administration
  • Reviews and analyzes invoices, and resolving discrepancies
  • Investigates and resolves payroll, benefits and related matters of significance on behalf of management
  • Affects, interprets and implements management policies and operating practices as provided for in the employee handbooks
  • Understands all aspects of payroll in regards to labor laws and regulations, providing expert advice to management and ensuring that the company is in compliance at all times
  • Handles difficult, sensitive and confidential issues with discretion
  • Utilizes strong organizational, interpersonal, time management and prioritization abilities to ensure all deadlines are met accurately and effectively

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience
  • Proficient in ADP or related payroll software
  • Proficient with MS Office, spreadsheets
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • High School Diploma. College coursework in finance, accounting and/or payroll strongly preferred
